Philip L Moore

Philip L Moore Wins Award in Best Shorts Film Competition

Philip of Worthing in West Sussex UK, has won a prestigious Award of Merit special mention from The Best Shorts Film Competition. The award was given for Philip L Moore’s exciting production Malcolm & The Magpies. This is Philip’s first pilot/short, and Malcolm & The Magpies is a testimony to what can be achieved on a very low budget and using Social Media, as Philip used Face Book to connect with Andrew & Kay Morris in Devon where the clip was filmed. Philip also used Face Book to connect with all the actors used in Malcolm & the Magpies.

Executive producer Philip L Moore, has been overwhelmed with the public support and recognition from the film industry. Malcolm & The Magpies has already won Best Comedy in the UK Monthly Film Fest, and is in the Official Selection for the Brighton Rocks Film Festival, which actor Jerry Anderson is in another film which is in selection for the same festival.  Director Steve Bannister of Akushi Media, the production company used by Philip is really pleased at how the production came together. Akushi’s camera man and editor Nathan Greenwood went beyond the call of duty to capture some amazing scenes. For sound Philip used his friend Martin Pay from Frome in Somerset. The clip features excellent acting from Jerry Anderson as “OX.”  Keith How as “SPUD,” Karn Moore as “Malcolm,” and Hannah Atwood as “Sweetheart. Philip also made an appearance in the clip playing “Bert.” Philip also wrote the theme tune, Gold Bar’s & Jaguars which is sung by Jules Winchester from Rustington West Sussex.

This short clip is a good introduction to what will become either a TV series or film. Philip explains that making the clip was real team work, all the actors and crew are really pleased with the win and take great pleasure at receiving the award, a real merit to what they were trying to achieve with the production, of Malcolm & The Magpies.
